I still wasn't able to view the rest of the Adobe videos because I've been paying more attention to my twitter account. But I have to mention another AIR (Flex for the Desktop) application I've been using.
It's called TweetDeck, and as the name suggests it's a twitter client but with the ability to create groups of twitters called decks. It's quiet handy if you try to follow a lot of twitters.
It's amazing how the Flex platform is flourishing with better and better applications.
There's another application I tried that works with Twitter called TwitterLocal that allows us to follow the twitters from a given area.

Virtual meets Real
Sunday afternoon and Twitter based, and McDonalds fueled, adventure took place in Lisbon, Portugal. Pedro Aniceto, a wonderful Portuguese blogger tells the tale (in PT) better than anyone, but essentially a discussion about fast food in Twitter ended with, a now proclamed TwitterHero, servicing a burgger to a news reporter who end giving a signal to the twitter crowd on live television.
Adobe Flex Video Training - Day 1
I've been a bit under the weather so I wasn't able to go through all the videos, but I viewed the day 1 and here are my thoughts:
The videos are what you'd expect from a training series, the first 5 videos are about the environment and the IDE, Flex Builder, there very good if you're a newcomer to Adobe technologies like Flash and Flex and never worked with an IDE before, so if you're not you can safely disregard them, but if you have the time, then they're pretty cool.
The last 5 videos are a bit more interesting, they go from simple (amazingly simple) binding between controls to retrieval of external data, passing through the notion of events, event listeners and how to handle then in MXML and ActionScript.
An interesting aspect of this videos is that even when they're talking about simple things they give tidbits of advanced information and you do get the feeling that the framework is very mature and powerful.
Here's the link to the videos again
I'll try to view the rest this week.

Flex Video Tutorial
This is a video tutorial i found on YouTube showing the creating of a Flex application working with PHP to retrieve data from a MySQL database. Although it's simple application it helps relay the power of RIAs and in particular Flex.

Rich Internet Applications
My final project to conclude my degree in Computer Engineering as a component to be implemented in Flex, and with that in mind I started a little research in to the RIAs World. Where's two AIR applications I found that are really amazing.

Updating My Digital Self
As I said in the previous post the idea behind this blog is to revitalize my online presence.
Being a IT professional the online world is almost my office, but I've put off making an actual effort to define my presence, despite the fact that I've been using most of the edge technologies, like micro-bloging , social bookmarking, postcasts, I've yet to actualy inprint my persona and realy interact with my peers.
With this in mind I updated my Linked In profile (it had nothing but the default options) and started giving more attention to my twitter account.
The next project is to remake my Delicious account. It was basically used to store bookmarks and thats just a side effect of the purpose of that platform. So I'll be changing the way I use it, and start to store just the bookmarks that are really important and making my own comments on each.
If anyone is reading this and has other ideas to interact within this digital world please leave a comment.

Hello World
This blog existed with another purpose, but it's time I revitalize my online presence and this blog in going to be one of the vehicles of this objective.
Where I'll write about many of subjects, but most likely there's going to be more posts about technology and specifically computer science.
I'm Portuguese but since English is the Internet's "lingua franca" this blog is going to be in English. Which means that there is going to be some errors but I think I'll be able to express myself.
